LTC Timothy Walsh, Ph.D.

LTC Timothy Walsh is an assistant professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering & Computer Science at the United States Military Academy.
He was commissioned as an aviation officer in 2008 and transferred to the Data Systems Engineering functional area in 2016. Military assignments have included platoon leader and logistics officer, 2-82nd Aviation Regiment; plans officer, Eighth Army Headquarters; instructor, 1-145th Aviation Regiment; commander of A Company, 1-13th Aviation Regiment; and senior information systems officer, Army Pacific Headquarters.
LTC Walsh has deployed once to combat for Operation Enduring Freedom and flew 650 hours in UH-60 Black Hawk and Bell 206 helicopters, including 380 hours in combat and 200 hours at night.
He is a distinguished ROTC military graduate; distinguished honor graduate, Flight School XXI; graduate, Aviation Captains Career Course; honor graduate, Command and General Staff Officer Course; and distinguished honor graduate, Information Systems Engineering Course.
LTC Walsh is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional and has a bachelor’s degree, a master’s degree, and a doctorate in computer science from Boston University, Georgetown University, and the Naval Postgraduate School, respectively.
