MAJ Zachary A. Curtis

MAJ Zachary Curtis is a course director and instructor of military science in the Department of Military Instruction at the United States Military Academy (USMA).
He is from Cary, North Carolina. He enlisted and attended basic training at Fort Jackson, South Carolina, followed by commissioning as an engineer officer in 2012 from Appalachian State University. Previous assignments included Company TAC officer for company F1 at USMA; company commander of 58th Combat Engineer Company, 1st Squadron; detachment commander of Headquarters and Headquarters Detachment, Regimental Support Squadron; and regimental officer in charge, Current Operations Cell, 11th ACR FICA; battalion S4 officer in charge, in 41st BEB, 2nd BCT, and company executive officer and platoon leader in B Company, 7th BEB, 1st BCT, 10th MTN DIV (FDNY).
MAJ Curtis is a graduate of the Engineer Basic Officer Leadership Course, Sapper Leader Course, Engineer Captains Career Course, and Cavalry Leader Course. He holds a master's in social-organizational psychology from Columbia University and a bachelor's in sociology from Appalachian State University. His awards and decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal (2OLC), Army Achievement Medal (5OLC), National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, and the Army Service Medal. Additionally, MAJ Curtis has been awarded the Sapper Tab.
He has two sons, Grayson and Evan.
