CPT Hayden Tippett is an Instructor in the Cyber Science Program of the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (EECS). He was commissioned as an Infantry Officer in 2014 after graduating from the United States Military Academy with a B.S. in Information Technology. His first assignment was at Schofield Barracks, Hawaii, where he served as a Rifle Platoon Leader and later as a Heavy Weapons Platoon Leader in the 2nd Battalion, 35th Infantry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 25th Infantry Division. After successfully completing the Ranger Assessment and Selection Program 2 (RASP2), CPT Tippett served as the Operations Officer for the 75th Ranger Regiment’s Regimental Reconnaissance Company at Fort Moore, Georgia, deploying once to Afghanistan. Upon completing the Maneuver Captains Career Course, he joined the 82nd Airborne Division at Fort Liberty, North Carolina. He served as Brigade Maneuver Planner for the 2nd Brigade Combat Team before taking command of an Airborne Rifle Company in the 1st Battalion, 325th Airborne Infantry Regiment. He later commanded the Headquarters and Headquarters Company (HHC) of the same Battalion. Following his command, CPT Tippett earned an M.S. in Cyber Security Engineering from the University of Southern California. He is a graduate of the Infantry Basic Officer Leader Course, Maneuver Captains Career Course, Ranger School, RASP2, Airborne School, Jumpmaster School, and Pathfinder School.”
