LTC James Martin grew up an Army Brat and graduated from West Point as a Signal Officer in 2007. He deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan with the 3rd Combat Aviation Brigade from Hunter Army Airfield, GA. He subsequently served two company commands at Fort Eisenhower, formerly Fort Gordon, GA. His first rotation with the West Point History Department was from 2015-2018 where he served as a course director and branch Executive officer. Following completion of ILE, he served for 3 years as a Brigade S6 in Schofield Barracks, HI. Prior to returning to West Point, LTC Martin served as G6 Plans and Training Branch Head for a NATO organization in Poland.
