LTC Joshua Groen is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering & Computer Science (EECS) and the Electronic Warfare (EW) Portfolio Lead at the Army Cyber Institute (ACI) at the United States Military Academy.
He graduated from Arizona State University in 2007 with a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering and was commissioned as an armor officer. He served in Korea and Alaska with the 7th Cavalry Regiment and 40th Cavalry Regiment, including a deployment to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. He later transitioned to the Army's Network Systems Engineering career field and served with the 50th Expeditionary Signal Battalion and U.S. Army Regional Cyber Center–Korea.
He completed his doctorate in electrical engineering at Northeastern University, where his research focused on the intersection of wireless communications, machine learning, and cybersecurity. His current research interests include electronic warfare, wireless communications, machine learning, cybersecurity, and resilient communications.
