West Point Graduation Ceremony
WEST POINT, N.Y. – The U.S. Military Academy’s Class of 2021 will graduate close to 1,000 cadets at its commencement ceremony tomorrow.
This marks West Point’s 223rd graduating class and these graduates stand strong and ready to take their place in the ranks of the U.S. Army in defense of our nation.
Class of 2021 highlights include:
- Cadets graduating from all 50 states
- 70 percent of the class branched combat arms
- 122 women will be commissioned into combat arms branches
- 38 cadets were national scholarship recipients
- 13 international cadets will graduate
- 65 cadets earned certification as Master Fitness Trainers
Secretary of Defense Gen. (Ret.) Lloyd J. Austin III will serve as the commencement speaker. This marks his first visit to West Point as Secretary of Defense and his first time as our graduation speaker.
