WEST POINT -- Support the U.S. Military Academy Class of 2028 March Back on Monday, Aug. 12!
Staff and faculty are encouraged to park and use the shuttle buses from A-Lot and Buffalo Soldier Field starting around 9 a.m. The shuttle buses will take you near Trophy Point. Buses will loop until the road closes for the march. K-Lot will also be available for parking until full.
All Keller Army Community Hospital medical services will be open during March Back, including Pharmacy, Radiology and Laboratory. March Back will reduce access to Keller/Washington Road around 10:30 a.m. If you feel you will have an issue making your appointment, please contact your respective clinic.
Viewers can watch the event along Washington Road between Washington Gate and the West Point Cemetery, and then along Ruger Road. No spectators are authorized beyond Thayer Statue. Come out and support the USMA Class of 2028 as they celebrate the end of Cadet Basic Training and their integration into the Corps of Cadets at the U.S. Military Academy at West Point!
They will start their 12-mile journey from Camp Buckner around 4 a.m., stepping off from the Victor Constant Ski Slope parking lot at 10:20 a.m. and enter post at Washington Gate. Refer to the march route map in the photo slider above and the timeline below:
Traffic Impacts/Road Closures:
- 9:50 a.m.: Route 218 closes between the new West Point Golf Club and Washington Gate;
- 10 a.m.: Washington Road closed from Washington Gate to the intersection of Ruger Road and Quarters 101;
- 10:20 a.m.: Cadets step off from the Victor Constant Ski Slope to Washington Gate;
- 11 a.m.: Cadets march down Washington Road, on to Ruger Road and conduct a pass in review at superintendent’s quarters;
- Noon: End of March Back; Washington Gate reopens.
