LTC William North commissioned as a 2LT Signal Officer in 2006 through the United States Military Academy. He began his career serving as a platon leader and operations officer in the 57th Expeditionary Signal Battalion where he deployed to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. He then assumed the role of provisional commander followed by HHC commander for the 62nd Expeditionary Signal Battalion. After obtaining his master’s degree from Stanford Universtiy, he served as an assistant professor of electrical engineering at the United States Military Academy. After transferring to Functional Area 26A, he served as the Network Systems Engineeer for the 335th Signal Command (T)(P) at Camp Arifjan, Kuwait. After his deployment, he served as the Network Defense Chief for Army Cyber Command. After completion of his PhD from the Universtiy of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, LTC North serves as an assistant professor in the Electrical Engineering and Computer Science department and supports the Photonics Research Center at the United States Military Academy.
