Annual Intellectual Theme Breadcrumb academics annual intellectual theme ay 2022 23 Academic Year 2022-23 ThemeCalled to Serve: Military Leadership in a Democratic Republic The academic year 2022-2023 is dedicated to the study of the military’s officer's role and relationship with society and our civilian leaders. Throughout the year, we will host events, podcasts, fireside chats, and panels focused on better understanding these relationships and stewarding the profession of arms. The goal of the annual intellectual theme is to bring the West Point community together in a shared intellectual experience by encouraging interdisciplinary discourse and research. The theme shapes events over the year and works best when faculty, staff, and cadets are inspired by how their current interests can be framed with the theme in mind.
