Dr. Elise Dykhuis is an assistant professor and character scientist in the Simon Center for the Professional Military Ethic at the United States Miliary Academy. She teaches in the Department of Mathematical Sciences, as well as the Eisenhower Leader Development Program, focusing on applied statistics and research methods. 

Her research and cadet advising focuses on character development in higher education, specifically measurement and assessment across all virtues, and particularly intellectual humility. Her interdisciplinary work bridges developmental, personality, and social psychology, as well as disciplines outside the social sciences. 

Dr. Dykhuis received her Bachelor of Arts in psychology and German at the University of Notre Dame. She earned a Master of Arts and Ph.D. in child study and human development from Tufts University.
