LTC Scott Hutchison is an assistant professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering & Computer Science (EECS) at the United States Military Academy.

He graduated from Texas A&M University with a bachelor's degree in computer science. He was branch-detailed to the Infantry and served in the 1st Infantry Division as a platoon leader and company executive officer, deploying to Baghdad, Iraq, in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom from 2006 to 2008.

LTC Hutchison's first assignment as a Signal Corps officer was as a Stryker battalion S-6 for the 1st Battalion, 14th Infantry Regiment, 25th Infantry Division. He deployed to Iraq again and took command of the 556th Signal Company for the remainder of his deployment. Upon returning to Hawaii, he relinquished command and served as the 2nd Stryker Brigade Combat Team brigade information officer.

He later worked as an operational test officer for the Warfighter Information Network–Tactical (WIN-T) Increment 2 equipment prior to its Army-wide fielding. After earning a master's degree in cyber operations from the Air Force Institute of Technology, he served as an instructor and assistant professor in EECS at USMA.

LTC Hutchison then served for three years as the deputy division G-6 for the 1st Infantry Division, including a 10-month rotation to Poland in support of NATO training and readiness exercises. He later earned a doctorate in computer science from Kansas State University and returned to USMA as an EECS faculty member.

He is married to the former Amanda Baker of Deer Park, Texas. They have four children: Katherine, Thomas, Autumn and David.
