Biography


CPT Kovacs is the 2024 – 2025 Center of Military History U.S. Army Reserve “Scholar in Residence” at West Point. CPT Daniel Kovacs received his commission from the Officer Candidate School in Ft. Moore, Georgia in 2013. He served in a variety of roles at the battalion and brigade levels before taking command of the 724th Transportation Company in 2019. CPT Kovacs deployed the 724th to Poland in support of Operation Atlantic Resolve in 2020. CPT Kovacs transferred to the Civil Affairs branch in 2021. He mobilized as a Civil Affairs Team Leader to Romania with A Co., 418th CA BN from 2022-2023. CPT Kovacs has completed the Logistics Captain’s Career Course, the Civil Affairs Captains Career Course (USAR), and the Cold Weather Operations Course.
