Biography


Major Daniel P. Colletti is an Instructor of American Politics in the Department of Social Sciences at the United States Military Academy at West Point, NY. Daniel is the course director for SS399 - The J. Gilbert Winant Scholars Program and SS473 - American Foreign Policy. Daniel also teaches SS202 Introduction to American Politics. When not in the class room, Daniel is the executive secretary for the Class of 1971's Student Conference of United States Affairs. 

Before arriving at USMA, Daniel attend Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs where he completed a master’s degree in public administration with a concentration in international security policy and regional specializations on the U.S. Domestic Policy and on Russia and the former Soviet Union.

Daniel received his commission from Florida State University's ROTC program in 2012 where he earned a Bachelor in Science in Economics and Philosophy. Following his commission, he attended Quartermaster Basic Officer Leaders Course. Daniel first served in the 3rd Infantry Brigade Combat Team, 1st Infantry Division foreword deployed to Afghanistan. Upon redeployment, he was selected to serve as the Battalion S4 for the 4th Infantry Battalion, 3rd Infantry Regiment (The Old Guard). Following his time with the Old Guard, Daniel attended the Combined Logistics Captains Career Course. Daniel then served in the 2nd Cavalry Regiment in Vilseck, Germany, first as the Regimental Support Squadron S3, then as 4th Squadron’s Forward Support Troop commander.
