Biography
Dr. Smith is an Associate Professor of Economics whose research focuses labor economics and public economics with a particular emphasis on the long-run effects of policy interventions on outcomes related to social mobility. He teaches the SS387 Public Economics and SS489C Research Methods in Economics courses. He is also the Director of the Economics Thesis program and the Executive Director of the Economics Curriculum Advisory Committee. Dr. Smith received his B.A. in Mathematics and Economics from Williams College and his Ph.D. from the University of Virginia.
